    The mystery of Mercury

Mercury is the smallest and nearest of the planets to the sun. It lost its internal heat before the rest of the planets, and so it stopped its axial spinning long time ago.

Therefore, it kept circling around the sun with one face facing the Sun (and is in a perpetual day), and the other is the dark side in a perpetual night.

The day side is very hot, and the dark side is very cold.

I shall, by God's will, give a series of explanations about the images obtained of Mercury.

The explanation of some recent images of Mercury

This image manifests the grroves and fissures due to the contraction of the surface of Mercury, after it lost its internal heat and became a cold object.

And this image shows the large number of craters due to the impacting of Mercury with a large number of comets, after Mercury became a cold object following the depletion of its internal heat. Mercury is the smallest of the planets and so it lost its internal heat before the rest of the planets.

This recent image of Mercury reveals the bright white portion in the bottom of one of its craters.

It could be due to the accumulation of a large amount of limestone: calcium carbonate included in the rocks of mountains, had been heated by the accumulated sun heat on the day side of Mercury --> leading to the issuing of CO2 and what remained was CaO which is a whitish powder --> and mountains were thus smashed into fine whitish powder.

This is from the well-known site: The Nine planets: nineplanets.org
    "Open Issues
•Mercury's density (5.43 gm/cm3) is nearly as high as Earth's. Yet in most other respects it more closely resembles the Moon. Did it lose its light rocks in some early catastrophic impact?
•No trace of iron has been seen in spectroscopic studies of Mercury's surface. Given its presumably large iron core this is very odd. Is Mercury much more completely differentiated than the other terrestrial planets?
•What processes produced Mercury's smooth plains?
•Are there any surprises on the other half of the surface we've not seen? Low resolution radar images obtained from Earth show no surprises, but you never know."
I shall, by God's will, explain some of such mysteries of Mercury, depending on the book that I translated:

What processes produced Mercury's smooth plains?

    Our explanation:

Mercury was a planet similar to Earth in many ways: but now it does not spin around itself, after it was depleted of its internal heat.

Therefore, it faces the sun with one face which is extremely hot; while the other dark side is extremely cold.

And inspite of its hot surface (in the day side), its core lost its heat, or if there is any residual heat, it is not sufficient to make it spin around itself.

    The importance of studying Mercury
It is very serious situation that of Mercury: because it expounds to us the future of our Earth, i.e. the Earth in the future will lose its internal heat by time, then it stop its spinning around itself, then it will be:
1- in a phase like the condition of Venus now.
    http://quran-ayat.com/universe/new_p..._Is_Dangerous_

2- then it will be in a phase like the condition of Mercury now.

•No trace of iron has been seen in spectroscopic studies of Mercury's surface. Given its presumably large iron core this is very odd. Is Mercury much more completely differentiated than the other terrestrial planets?

    Our explanation:
The origin of Mercury is like that of the rest of the planets of the solar system: all of them were one sun, which cooled down, then exploded to form the Earth and its sister planets: Mercury, Venus, Mars, ...etc.

Therefore, its constituents are almost the same with some differences here and there, like the differences between the Earth regions concerning the minerals distribution.

So all the planets have iron, silicon, copper, sodium, Potassium, and water ...etc.

But when Mercury lost its internal heat and became a cold planet (not the surface temperature, but the heat included in its core); so when it became colder, it shrank or contracted, and became denser.

In addition to that, its lava included in its core, which is a mixture of molten metals and rocks, then when it became colder, it became denser.

Another point is that Mercury gravity became weaker following its cessation from axial rotation, and as a result, it lost its atmsophere into the outer space.

So when astronomers estimated its mass and divided it by its volume without atmosphere, the specific gravity became more giving a denser picturre.

This is in contrast to Jupiter which has an enormous atmosphere, so they had the misconcept that Jupiter is gaseous, while in fact it is like the rest of the planets in origin and constituents; but because of its huge atmosphere, they had such misconception.

The indication that Mercury became colder than before lies in the fact that it contracted leading to the appearance of grooves, and fissures and trenches in large number on Mercury surface.

Such explanation that Mercury has water ice, I think is not correct
    http://www.scientificamerican.com/ar...ted=1#comments

The explanation of sulfur given by David Lawrence seems better

My explanation which may be more realistic

At the start, Mercury stopped its axial spinning since long time ago. And now it circles around the sun with only one face facing it, while the other side is unseen by the sun (just like the moon in relation to the earth.)

Therefore, the side facing the sun has extreme heat, while the opposite side has extreme coldness.

Then at the start, the atmosphere became turbid and its gases mixed with each other to become like Venus now

Then it lost its atmosphere to the outer space, so that its surface appears clearly not like Venus, the surface of which cannot be seen because of its thick smoke due to its mixed gases

Then its water vaporized and disappeared into the outer space and it was lost.

So now Mercury has no air, no water and its surface appears clearly, and it has extremes of heat and coldness

Sulfur is more likely, more than water ice: because specially when the gases of the atmosphere mixed with each other: one of the gases is SO2 which reacted with the initially present water vapor to precipitate H2SO4 and the sulfides
